Researchers at Princeton University have recently developed a new way to use nanotechnology for the better in LEDs, which will soon increase the brightness, efficiency, clarity, and best of all, cost. At the nanoscale structure, typical LED technology has a spray of light in many directions, causing a loss of light where it is not needed. With a new directed structure, and organic materials, the brightness and efficiency has been improved by as much as 57%.
Because of this new technology, we expect better clarity in phones, televisions, and other uses, in the near future. More on how they accomplished this can be seen by visiting Princeton.edu.
